Field - theoretical approach to non - local interactions : 1 d electrons and fermionic impurities

چکیده
We apply a recently proposed path-integral approach to non-local bosonization to a Thirring-like system modeling non-relativistic mass-less particles interacting with localized fermionic impurities. We consider forward scattering processes described by symmetric potentials including interactions between charge, current, spin and spin-current densities. In the general (spin-flipping) problem we obtain an effective action for the collective modes of the model at T = 0, containing WZW-type terms. When spin-flipping processes are disregarded the structure of the action is considerably simplified, allowing us to derive exact expressions for the dispersion relations of collective modes and two point fermionic correlation functions as functionals of the potentials. Finally, as an example, we compute the momentum distribution for the case in which electrons and impurities are coupled through spin and spin-current densities only. The formulae we get suggest that our formalism could be useful in order to seek for a mechanism able to restore Fermi liquid behavior.

Fermionic Heisenberg Glasses with Bcs Pairing Interaction
We have analyzed a fermionic infinite-ranged quantum Heisenberg spin glass with BCS coupling in real space in the presence of a magnetic field. It has been possible to locate the transition line between the normal paramagnetic phase (NP) and the phase where there is a long range order corresponding to pair formation in sites (PAIR). The nature of the transition line is also investigated. This t...

Submitted for the MAR14 Meeting of The American Physical Society Screening in Non-Equilibrium Dissipative System1 JIAJUN LI, JONG HAN, State Univ of NY Buffalo — Effect of screening is one crucial property of interacting electrons. However, it is still not completely understood in nonequilibrium dissipative system, partly due to a lack of convenient theoretical tool. It is recently shown that a...
متن کاملDual boson approach to collective excitations in correlated fermionic systems
We develop a general theory of a boson decomposition for both local and non-local interactions in lattice fermion models which allows us to describe fermionic degrees of freedom and collective charge and spin excitations on equal footing. An efficient perturbation theory in the interaction of the fermionic and the bosonic degrees of freedom is constructed in so-called dual variables in the path...

We study the combined effect of cubic anisotropy and quenched uncorrelated impurities on multicomponent spin models. For this purpose, we consider the field-theoretical approach based on the Ginzburg-Landau-Wilson φ4 Hamiltonian with cubic-symmetric quartic interactions and quenched randomness coupled to the local energy density. We compute the renormalization-group functions to six loops in th...
متن کاملInfluence of Magnetic Field on Effective Electron-electron Interactions in a Copper Wire
In metallic wires, electron-electron interactions lead to quasi-elastic scattering, which modifies the electron phase-coherence time, and to inelastic scattering, which redistributes energy between electrons. Several recent experiments have shown that these properties can be sampledependent 1,2. We have found furthermore that the low-temperature saturation of the phasecoherence time τφ of quasi...
